• Education is a life–long process. It is never ending. In the age of information explosion, information is a dynamic and unending source that effects all disciplines and all walks of life. Information supports education, research and development. It improves the quality of life. Libraries are the sources for continuum of education and are playing an important role in getting relevant information.The Central Library of E.S.I.-P.G.I.M.S.R. and E.S.I.C. Medical College is located at the 2nd Floor of the Academic Building with floor area of more than 2000 sq. ft. Users have facility of for easy browsing, reading and borrowing of Books and Journals. The Central Library accommodates sections such as Book Stacks, Text Books, Reference Books, Circulation, Periodicals and Reference Section, Photocopy Section, Newspaper Section, Computer Section, Audio-Visual section etc.
• The library continues to be an essential component of our Institute’s research and treatment mission. Our Central Library caters to the need of M.B.B.S. students, Research Scholars, Post Graduate Students, Senior Residents, Junior Residents, Medical Teaching Faculty and Other Doctors and Paramedical Staff of the Institute. In support of the Institute’s research and patient care, the library provides users with a broad range of information services with its collection of books, periodicals, e-learning resources and on-line journals. We have fully functional Computer Workstations with Server. The library is conducive for long hours of study. The library is well equipped with conventional resources, as well as technology based information services. The library follows open access system and the books are arranged using Decimal Classification (D.D.C.) scheme.

Library Hours (except Govt. Holidays): 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. (Monday to Friday); 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. (Saturdays)

Total Number of Medical Book Titles (September 2023) is more than 10,000

Total Number of Printed Medical Journal Titles (December 2017) is 101 (National = 60, Foreign = 41)
